LTE Access Now Typcially 2.25 Times Faster than Wi-Fi

Once upon a time, people switched from mobile to Wi-Fi because Wi-Fi often offered higher speeds than the mobile 3G network. That tends not to be the case anymore. According to tests by OpenSignal, typical 4G mobile network access speeds are faster than Wi-Fi.

That more than half of all mobile data access now occurs using Wi-Fi is not, therefore, driven by better speed, but by the ability to conserve mobile data allowances. That can be seen clearly enough in the lateset OpenSignal tests.

Wi-Fi access still is faster than 3G access.
