CBRS Has a Big Cost Advantage Over Small Cells?

Infrastructure will a big cost advantage will tend to get used. That looks to be the case for Citizens Broadband Radio Service, which will support about 150 MHz of new spectrum in the 3.5 GHz range that can be used for mobile internet access, enterprise networks or other purposes we have not yet explored fully.

By some estimates, using CBRS in outdoor settings is about 40 percent less costly (on a cost per gigabyte basis) than deploying a small cell. In indoor settings, CBRS might have a 68 percent cost advantage (on a cost per square foot of coverage basis), compared to a distributed antenna system.
