83% of Smartphone Users are On the Device At Least Every 30 Minutes

Some 63 percent of global smartphone owners use their mobile device at least every 30 minutes.

Nearly half (49 percent) of smartphone users worldwide spend at least three hours each day on their mobile device, while 22 percent of global users spend six hours or more every day on their devices, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau.

South America has the most heavy mobile users (29 percent) who spend six hours or more on mobile each day.  At the country level, Brazil, China and Argentina lead the way in terms of time spent on mobile, with 38 percent, 31 percent, and 29 percent respectively using their mobile device for six hours or more.


Some 88 percent of users access the mobile web daily, while 84 percent use mobile apps daily.
