Though Comcast has gotten most of the attention, Charter Communications also is getting into the mobile business.
Charter Communications says it also plans to wholesale mobile capacity from Verizon Wireless, and like Comcast expects to leverage its Wi-Fi hotspot network to reduce the amount of capacity it buys from Verizon Wireless.
“We’ve told Verizon we’re interested in pursuing that agreement,” said Tom Rutledge, Charter Communications CEO.
