T-Mobile is launching a new series of promotions supporting its fixed wireless home broadband service. Customers can try T-Mobile’s home broadband service for15 days while keeping their existing service provider as part of the nternet Freedom promotion.
If customers decide to switch to T-Mobile, the firm will pay early termination fees up to $500.
Home and business plans come with Price Lock, so a customer’s price is locked in at just $50 per month, with no additional monthly taxes or fees. Prices also are locked for the duration of the customer relationship.
Current T-Mobile customers save more. T-Mobile treats the home broadband service just ike another line on a family plan. That reduces the home broadband cost to $30 a month.
T-Mobile also is offering $50 off any streaming device. That effectively means a free Chromecast, Fire TV, Roku or the lowest price around on other streaming appliance.
T-Mobile also is offering 50 percent off the regular price of YouTube TV for a full year.
For business users, T-Mobile touts the ability to connect all an organization’s locations nationally.
T-Mobile has said it will reach seven million to eight million wireless broadband customers by the end of 2025. At $50 per month for eight million households, that would bring in about $4.8 billion in service revenue annually.
That would give T-Mobile something in the range of seven percent share of the home broadband market. For comparison, that would make T-Mobile as big a provider as Verizon presently is, in terms of share.
That likely would happen with no reliance on millimeter wave spectrum.
