How Much Demand for 5G, Early On?

Consumers say they want 5G. Of course, such surveys often omit pricing detail. After they weigh device costs, they might not actually be so willing to switch, at least at first. Also, consumers are not often asked whether they’d prefer to buy a 4G service that offers lots more speed, compared to a 5G connection. Even ignoring any potential cost premium for 5G, faster 4G is going to satisfy most consumers.

In fact, mobile service providers might have to rely on such demand. It will give them more time to introduce 5G gradually, as need grows.
