5G is virtually certain to be among the biggest buzz words of 2017, in part because of the huge range of technologies that are foundational--and different--for 5G. Millimeter wave frequencies, spectrum sharing, virtualized networks, new radios and small cells are just a few of the technologies enabling 5G.
