Reliance Jio Aims for at Least 162 Million LTE Subs Within 2 Years

Reliance Jio Infocomm Senior VP of Wireless networks, Tareq Amin outlined Reliance Jio’s network plans, which include what he called the “largest small cell deployment happening in the world.”

As planned, Reliance Jio will activate more than 100,000 macrocell sites, 150,000 small cell sites and  500,000 or more Wi-Fi access points within the next three years.

The company aims to have more LTE subscribers than all of the the U.S. telcos combined, within the next two years. That implies subscriber counts greater than 163 million or so, within two years.
