In Manhattan, negotiations for placement of new mobile network radios are inconvenient, costly and time consuming.
In India, opposition to placement of new towers appears to be among several material reasons why call drop rates are so high.
Indian mobile service provider executives often complain that a variety of rules prevent them from putting new radio sites where they are needed to improve signal coverage and strength.
Those barriers include obstacles to new sites based on alleged health concerns. On the other hand, tower site utilization rates also seem to be an issue. Compared to some other markets, there are fewer service providers on each available tower.
