AT&T Quarterly Report Will Highlight M2M, Mexico, Video Growth

AT&T will report in its next quarterly report 900,000 branded net additions to its base of domestic mobile subscribers, branded net adds of more than 330,000, 1.2 million mobile additions in Mexico and more than 200,000 paid net DirecTV Now  customer additions.

What will bear watching is the number of net mobile adds attributable to machine-to-machine accounts, including connected car accounts, providing a glimpse of the potential of future internet of things for the mobile business. The Mexico business likewise is important as it suggests one new source of growth for AT&T, outside its domestic markets.

Also, the DirecTV Now growth offers a glimpse of the potential new role AT&T could play in the content business.

All those developments--M2M and IoT, international and content--are key growth drivers as the U.S. mobile business is largely mature.
