Some 6G Features are Not Hard to Predict

At least conceptually, 6G will improve technical performance in a number of ways. Every mobile next-generation network in the digital era has provided order of magnitude improvements in bandwidth and latency performance, for example. That should not change with 6G.

But there also are likely to be improvements in energy efficiency, spectral efficiency and network reliability. As we have seen early in the 5G era, the focus also will shift to machine support rather than mobile phone experience.

That might include support for even-denser device support, for example.

But it will likely be the bandwidth (and therefore peak and average data rates, that stand out most.
