Why Dish or Comcast Must Acquire Market Share: Organic Growth Won't Matter

If a forecast of U.S. mobile operator market share by 2020 is correct, it is clear why any serious new competitor--Dish Network, Comcast, Google or Apple, for example--has to “acquire” its way into the market.

The virtual mobile network operator (MVNO) avenue will continue to exist, but MVNO market share is expected to be quite flat between 2015 and 2020.

In other words, acquiring a significant position in the U.S mobile market looks to be quite a difficult exercise, if conducted strictly as an MVNO.
