Researchers at Deloitte expect 5G commercial launches by 25 mobile operators in 2019, another 26 launching in 2020. Deloitte also expects about one million 5G fixed wireless accounts to be in service by the end of 2019, as well as about one million 5G personal hotspot devices and another million 5G smartphones.
If 4G provides any useful guidance, it is likely that tens of millions of personal hotspot devices might be sold and used in the first few years of 5G availability.
