T-Mobile is Taking Share in Home Broadband

T-Mobile has added two million fixed wireless accounts in 2022, the company says. We all are free to speculate on how much more share T-Mobile and Verizon can take in the home broadband market using fixed wireless, but the gains are significant in a market that is very nearly a zero-sum game: what T-Mobile gains virtually always comes at the expense of another ISP.

“In fact, T-Mobile had more broadband net adds in '22 than AT&T, Verizon, Comcast and Charter combined,” says Michael Sievert, T-Mobile CEO.

We expect total postpaid net additions to be between 5 million and 5.5 million,” says Peter Osvaldik, T-Mobile CFO. “This guidance assumes roughly half of postpaid net adds coming from phones.”

That implies that about half of net adds come from other sources, including home broadband, sensors or wholesale revenues.
