LG U+ has achieved 600 Mbps speeds for Long Term Evolution access, using LTE-U to augment 4G capacity using Wi-Fi bandwidth at 5.8 GHz. LTE-U also is known as licensed assisted access.
LTE-U, by current design, supports 600 Mbps data transmission speed, using carrier aggregation to bond licensed LTE and unlicensed Wi-Fi spectrum.
Speeds as high as 10 Gbps are envisioned for fifth generation networks, extrapolating from current IEEE 802.11 standards.
